Ei'ichi Miyazato Hanshi 宮里栄一
(July 5th, 1922 - December 11th, 1999)

Biography of Eiichi Miyazato Sensei

Date of birth: July 5, 1922 Higashi-cho, Naha

 

Karate training:
1936   Introduced the rudiments of Karate by his father
1938   Became a Chojun Miyagi Sensei‘s student
1946   Entered in the Ryukyu Police Department by Chojun Miyagi
         
 Sensei’s recommendation. Proceed to instruct at the Ryukyu Police
           Accademy Dojo as assistant instructor (to Miyagi Sensei)
1953   Upon the death of his Teacher (Miyagi Serisei), was appointed to
           instruct Karate, Judo and arrest tecbniques at the academy as
          well as instructor at Miyagi Sensei‘s dojo (at his house garden).
1957  Karate dojo, Jundokan, was established in Asato, Naha.
1969  With other Goju-ryu teacher he establish the Okinawa Gojuryu
          Karatedo Kyokai (Okinawa Goju-ryu Karatedo Association)
1970  Re-built the dojo on property next door (present location).
1972  Retired from the Ryukyu Police Department
1993  Give seminars in Europe (Italy, Sweden, Spain)
